Everyone knows we in the US especially are an incredibly mobile culture. We also all share common household things; bed frames, appliances, lamps, tables, chairs; things we 'own'.
This website has me thinking about a searchable moveswap board where people who are moving from one part of the country (world?) to another try to find their anti-move selves; people who are making the (roughly) identical move. Say, one couple is moving from CA to NY. They find a couple moving from NY to CA.
They compare their household goods, and swap common things.
This would seem to reduce the energy cost for two moves at once.
Just a thought.
