In 2007 Shawn Frayne was given a Breakthrough Award for the Windbelt. The invention was made to help the third world generate cheap power.

I would love to see more of this technology added to other forms to create something powerful.
I believe that one form of energy harvesting will never work completely but a mix of different forms together will be the future answer.
For Example: Wind towers set off the coast of the seas, oceans and great lakes mixed with tidal power generators that use kenetic energy... The ideas abound
